Apples in Orange Caramel Sauce

by Giulio

Ingredients

2 oranges
4 apples
100g sugar
50g butter

Directions

Extract the juice of two oranges. Peel four apples and slice into eight pieces each, then put them in a bowl of water with a little lemon juice to avoid oxidation. Put the sugar in a saucepan on a low heat until it starts to turn brown and form a caramel. Add the orange juice, whisk together, and then add the cold butter in small cubes, continuing to stir with a whisk until all are combined. Add the pieces of apple, and cook until apples are soft. Serve with vanilla ice cream.

The vegetables are so fresh and keep so much longer than those bought at the supermarket. It's all delicious but some of our favourites are the lettuce mix, spinach and the peppers and courgettes. As for the tomatoes they are so sweet.
