Apple Turnovers

by Ooooby Crew

Ingredients

2 sheets store-bought puff pastry, cut into quarters
3 or 4 apples, peeled, cored and chopped
1 T cold water or orange juice
3 whole cloves
1 t cinnamon
1 t nutmeg
1 egg, beaten w/ 1 T water
sugar

Directions

Place the apple, water or juice and spices in a saucepan over medium heat. Heat gently until the apple is cooked. Remove and cool, find the cloves and discard. Place the pastry quarters on a lined baking sheet. Spoon the apple mixture onto one side of each square, be careful not to overfill. Fold over to make a triangle and secure by brushing the edges lightly with egg/water. Crimp the edges with a fork. Brush the tops of the turnovers with egg/water and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 220 for about 15 minutes, until golden.

Knowing where my veg comes from is important to me. Chemical free veg is important to me. Local and seasonal veg is important to me. I have supported Frith Farm for many years now and Frith has supported my healthy diet in return.
